From there, it’s easy for them to confirm you’re who they’re after, then offer you the job.

Step 2 is to send your resume to as many companies as possible.
The more jobs you apply for, the more chance you have of being asked in for an interview and then being offered a job.
In the past, I’ve seen people who have been very targeted in the jobs they apply for or the companies they want to work for, so they don’t apply for many jobs.
This strategy is fine if you have highly specialized skills or if you’re not in a hurry to get a job.

When you do this and apply for all the jobs you’re interested in and all the jobs you may only be vaguely interested in, and your resume contains the words most of the jobs ads use, then you’re going to get called in for interviews.
Then when you receive the inevitable calls from recruiters and hiring managers, you can speak to them about the job they have on offer, how much their offering in regards to salary, and then YOU can decide if you want to talk it further with that particular job application.
