The 4 Sentence Cover Letter That gets You The Job Interview

The 4 Sentence Cover Letter — That WORKS!

Today I’ll show you how to write a cover letter that, in only 4 sentences will get the interest of recruiters, hiring managers and employers, so they’re more likely to get you in for an interview.

In 4 sentences you can communicate what you need to say, and do it in such a way that it generates interest in you from the recruiter or hiring manager you send your cover letter to.

Keep in mind that the easiest way to be invited to an interview, breeze through it and then be offered the job is when the employer already knows you’re a great fit for the role.

The best way to do that is to use Connectzapp to find your next job.

When you use Connectzapp, the employer can already see you’re a good fit for the role so it makes it an easy decision for them to reach out to you, and it takes the pressure off you through the whole process.

You can get Connectzapp on the App Store or Google Play or go to connectzapp.com

So give it a try.

Now onto the 4 sentence cover letter.

People are busier than ever these days.

The average person receives around 150 emails every day.

Recruiters and hiring managers receive twice or even 3 times that on a daily basis, so their time is short.

Most recruiters and hiring managers don’t have time to read through cover letters so they just skim through them looking for anything that stands out.

In my video How To Write A Cover Letter That Gets Read,

I cover what to put in your cover letter to generate an emotional response from the reader so they stop skimming and take the time to read it.

If you haven’t seen it then take the time to watch it. The strategy I go though in that video works really well.

The 4 sentence cover letter takes a different approach but is just as effective.

So let’s go though it.

Sentence number 1 is…

I’m writing to apply for the (state the name of job as described by employer) position you have available.

So if you’re applying for a marketing manager role then your first sentence will be…

I’m writing to apply for the marketing manager position you have available.

What this sentence does is it makes it clear to the recruiter or hiring manager which job you’re applying for.

Most of them are trying to fill multiple jobs at the same time so in your first sentence you’re being clear which job you’re applying for.

Sentence number 2 is…

I have (state the number) years of experience and have strong (state the top 4 or 5 skills that relate to the role), skills.

In this sentence you’re stating your qualification for the job.

So if you’re applying for a sales role your sentence could read like this…

I have 6 years of experience and have strong prospecting, closing and client management, skills.

Sentence number 3 is…

At the top of my attached resume is my profile and significant results achieved, which make me a good candidate for the role.

With this sentence you’re creating interest for them to read your resume.

Obviously, make sure your resume has your contact details and significant results achieved on the top as you’ve stated in this sentence.

And sentence number 4 is…

I would welcome the opportunity to speak to you further about this role or any other role you think I am qualified for.

In this sentence you’re obviously inviting them to contact you.

But you’re also inviting them to consider you for any other role they may have available.

The reason you want to do this is, you don’t know who will be reading your cover letter and what experience they have as a recruiter. Some people don’t think to consider you for another role, so let them know you’re open to considering other roles they may have available.

So when you put the 4 sentences together they read like this…

Dear Hiring Manager (or ideally person’s name),

I’m writing to apply for the Sales Manager position you have available.

I have 6 years of experience and have strong prospecting, closing and client management, skills.

At the top of my attached resume is my profile and significant results achieved, which make me a great candidate for the role.

I would welcome the opportunity to speak to you further about this role or any other role you think I am qualified for.

This is a very effective cover letter layout.

And it works!

For the people who use it, they find they’re asked in for more interviews, which obviously means they find a job a lot quicker.

It’ll save you a lot of time. So I hope you’ll give it a try.

If you found this helpful please give it a clap.

And as always,

Good luck with your job hunting!
